OK Coders is excited to announce new bootcamps for programming beginners this fall in Oklahoma City.
The fall bootcamp will consist of 3 modules that together provide an intro to front end web development. All modules are 4 weeks long with classes taking place on Saturdays from 9am-1pm.
The modules are intended to be accessible for those who are beginners to coding, and then will quickly advance through more complex front end programming concepts. To ensure participants have the best possible experience and can keep up with the fast pace of OK Coders, we’ve included some prerequisite courses for the bootcamps which can be taken for free online before the start of the classes.
Module 1: Intro to Web Design
-September 1 – September 22
-HTML, CSS, Bootstrap (3 weeks)
-Git and Command Line Interface (1 week)
-Prerequisites: Must complete the “Learn HTML” and “Learn the Command Line” courses on Codecademy.com. This should take ~3 hours and will need to be completed before applying to the bootcamp. You’ll submit a screenshot with proof of course completion on your application.
Module 2: Intro to Programming
-October 6 – October 27
Module 3: Intro to Programming II
-November 10 – December 8 (no class Thanksgiving week)
-Prerequisites: Modules 1 & 2 (or similar experience) + must complete the “Introduction to jQuery” course on Codecademy.com before start of the module.
Cost to attend
The full fall 2018 front end web development bootcamp (all 3 modules) is offered for $500 and has been specifically curated to best help beginners learn intro level web development. Thus, participants are highly encouraged to commit to all three modules of the class.
However, participants who are only interested in web design (module 1) or who already have web design experience and are only interested in later modules, may sign up for just the modules they are interested in, for a price of $200 per module.
How do I sign up?
Applications are open now at okcoders.com/apply. Applications will be reviewed and accepted on a rolling basis and are due at midnight on Saturday, August 25. Once your application has been reviewed and you’ve been accepted, you’ll then prepay for the bootcamp online before the start of Module 1.
What if I’m looking for full-stack web development training?
Great news! This front end bootcamp will end in December, and then our back end web development bootcamp will be offered in early 2019 for those who want to continue learning.
***Our front end web development training (which is our most accessible bootcamp for beginners) will most likely not be offered again until summer or fall of 2019. So don’t miss your chance to start building your coding skills with this fall class of OK Coders!
