OK Coders is excited to host our first ever intermediate-level coding bootcamp this fall in OKC! The 8-week bootcamp will go in-depth into front end web development, focusing on building web applications with the JavaScript framework React. This bootcamp is intended for those who are past the “beginner” phase and have a strong understanding of HTML, CSS, Javascript, and Github. As part of the fall bootcamp, students will work on a real-world development project from a local tech company, with project management and mentorship from OK Coders instructors. In addition to the typical OK Coders classroom instruction, students will have the opportunity to interface with representatives from the participating tech companies while gaining practice at solving real-world development problems.

Bootcamp dates and cost to participate

The 8-week bootcamp will take place Tuesdays and Thursdays in downtown Oklahoma City this fall. The bootcamp will run from 6pm-8pm for 8 consecutive weeks beginning October 3. The cost to participate is $395.

Are there any prerequisites?

This bootcamp is intended for coders who are past the “beginner” level and who are looking to build their portfolio of skills and projects. Experienced developers who want to learn React or refresh their skills are welcome as well! You do NOT have to have completed a previous OK Coders bootcamp in order to apply, but you should be familiar and comfortable with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and version control with Github. If you have questions about your readiness level for the intermediate class, email us at okcoders@gmail.com.

Who is teaching this bootcamp?

The bootcamp will be co-taught by Zach Mays and Bob Rockers. Bob is the VP of Software Engineering at Automation Integrated, an OKC-based software development firm that builds automation and security solutions for some of OKC’s biggest corporations. Zach is a software engineer at Oseberg, an OKC tech startup that provides valuable data and visualizations for oil and gas companies. Both are experienced OK Coders instructors and mentors who are involved in OKC’s tech and entrepreneurial communities.

How do I sign up?

Applications are at okcoders.com/apply and close at 11:59pm on Friday, September 29. Shoot us an email if you have any questions about the applications or the curriculum.
