New bootcamp announced! Front end development with focus on mobile – Summer 2017 in OKC

Applications are now open for an 8-week front end development boot camp taking place Tuesdays and Thursdays in downtown Oklahoma City this summer! The boot camp will run from 6pm-8pm for 8 consecutive weeks beginning June 13 and ending August 8.

What curriculum is covered? And for what cost?

This introductory boot camp will cover front end web development focusing on HTML, CSS, and JavaScript specifically aimed at mobile development.  The class is intended for beginners with little development experience who are interested in creating mobile web application frontends.  Other topics covered will include bash, Git, jQuery, Bootstrap, and Chrome Developer Tools. The boot camp will be a mix of lecture and project-based learning. The cost to participate is $395.

Are there any prerequisites?

This boot camp is intended for beginners, but experienced developers are welcome as well! You are not required to have any previous coding training in order to apply. For true beginners, we highly recommend starting to learn some HTML, CSS, and JavaScript on your own as pre-work for the class. Check out the book Eloquent JavaScript and the Codecademy lessons on HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to get started.

Who’s teaching this boot camp?

Our summer 2017 instructor is Bob Rockers. Bob is the VP of Software Engineering at Automation Integrated, an OKC-based software development firm that builds building automation and security solutions for some of OKC’s biggest corporations. He is very involved in OKC’s tech and entrepreneurial communities, and he’s back by popular demand to teach his second OK Coders bootcamp!

How do I sign up?

Applications are at okcoders.com/apply and close at 11:59pm on Friday, June 9. We have a limited number of seats, so sign up soon to reserve your spot! Shoot us an email if you have any questions about the applications or the curriculum.
